My name is Betty Selman. I have been raising Alaskan Malamutes since 1988. I started with 2 adults named Fred and Ginger. These beautiful animals were given to me by a friend who was no longer able to take care of them. I began to breed them and they had there first litter of puppies in 1989. The Alaskan Malamute is an affectionate, friendly dog, not a 'one man' dog. He is a loyal, devoted companion, playful in invitation, but generally impressive by his dignity after maturity.
I purchase my breed dogs from other reputable and careful breeders in order to keep the breeding from remaining in the same bloodline. I qualify my puppy buyers and sell the puppies from my litters only to good homes. Alaskan Malamute puppies may be picked up just off Interstate 35 North of Waco, Texas. Or, puppies can be carefully and lovingly flown to new homes anywhere in the continental US.
Malamutes are generally 'people friendly' and love to be where the action is when folk are around. They are patient with children, but careful supervision is always appropriate with any kind of animal.
Alaskan Malamutes are very good with children when acquired as pups and raised with the little ones. They tend to be quite protective in this situation and the child has a loving friend and companion.
